Chickies Beach Bags began when Alicia Markle, an interior designer by trade, had some left over outdoor fabric from a recently completed home renovation. A beach lover herself, she thought that the fabric would make a great alternative to the average looking beach totes she already owned. Alicia sewed herself a bag and received so many compliments that she began to make and sell them out of her New Jersey home. As demand grew, Alicia looked to her husband Steve and his background in fashion retail to find a manufacturer to create the fast selling bags. Chickie's Beach Bags was born! Two years later, Steve and Alicia continue to grow and refine the line, always on the lookout for great new fabrics, styles and color combinations.
